  • 00:31: ready I'm ready let's do it I love this fabric that we picked out super cute little vintage ladies here's what you'll need to get started 1 to 2 yards of fabric depending on your measurements elastic scissors or a rotary cutter matching thread safety pins an iron and your sewing machine start out by taking your hip measurements then cut two pieces of fabric with a width equal to your hip measurement and a length of 22 and a half inches place
  • 01:02: your two pieces of fabric right sides together and pin the side seams in place so both seams using a 1/2 inch seam allowance press the seams flat before moving on now we'll make the waistband we've already got it set up here we folded down the top edge about a half an inch and pressed it then fold it down another two inches and press that next pin it in place and top stitch along the edge all the way around leaving an
  • 01:31: opening in the seam about 4 inches wide insert the elastic so we're going to measure this elastic around your waist and it really just needs to be exactly the length of your waist attach a safety pin to one end of the elastic to help you thread it through the waistband casing and gather away safety pin the other end of the elastic to the opening so it doesn't sneak away from you finish threading the elastic then unpin and sew the two ends together overlapping them
