  • 00:00: A round yoke on Mamochkin Kanal. We'll crochet a girl dress. This is part 1. This is the yoke we'll crochet. I use YarnArt Begonia yarn (185yrd/50g), hook №2.75. This is the dress I want to crochet.
  • 00:35: It has a round yoke, mesh hearts and bows. You can use any yarn you like.
  • 01:11: Here you can see some suggestions. Let's start.
  • 03:11: I crochet this dress for a 1.7-2 y.o. girl. I crochet a 40 cm chain. I measured 40 cm and take 5 threads of this length. Crochet the chain in the direction of the end of the yarn.
  • 03:58: There's no need to count chains, do as many as you can. Find the 1st chain stitch and pull a loop. Ch 5 to start the row.
  • 04:33: Sc1 in the 3rd stitch. Ch 5 Skip 2 stitches, Sc1 in the 3rd. Repeat till the end of the row.
  • 05:10: Ch 5, skip 2 stitches, Sc1 in the 3rd. Our rapport has 3 of these loops.
  • 05:53: Our first two loops will form a joint at the back of the dress. 1 rapport (3 loops) goes to one half of the back. 3 full rapports (9 loops) for the front. 2 rapports (6 loops) for the sleeve. 2 rapports (6 loops) for the 2nd sleeve.
  • 06:27: The 2nd half of the back: 1 full rapport and 0.5 rapport (3 loops+1 loop + 0.5 loop). Ch2, Dc1 in the 3rd stictch (this is our half rapport).
  • 06:59: Count all loops including halves (31 big loops in my case). Start row 2: Ch 3
  • 07:35: Turn the work. Dc1 in the 1st space. Dc3 in the 2nd space. Dc3 in the next space. Repeat till the end of the row: Dc3 in each space. End row 2: Dc1 in the last space (half rapport).
  • 08:21: Dc1 in the 3rd chain stitch of the previous row. Start row 3: Ch 3 + Ch 1 (extra, for space). Turn the work.
  • 08:53: Dc1 over Dc1 of the previous row. Dc1 over the next Dc1. Ch 6.
  • 09:25: Skip 2 groups of Dc3 (6 Dc). Dc1 over the 1st Dc1 Dc1 over the 2nd Dc1. Ch 3.
  • 09:55: Dc1 over the central Dc (2nd Dc). Dc1 over the 3rd Dc1. Ch 6. Skip 2 groups of Dc 3. Dc1 over 1st Dc1, Dc1 over 2nd Dc1, Ch 3, Dc1 over 2nd Dc1, Dc1 over 3rd Dc1.
  • 10:35: Repeat till the end of the row. End row 3: Dc1 over Dc1, Dc1 over 3rd chain stitch, Ch 1, Dc1 over 3rd chain stitch.
  • 11:17: The start and end of row should be the same. Start row 4: Ch 3 + Ch 1.
  • 12:01: Turn the work. Dc1 in the 1st space (under Ch1). Dc1 over Dc1, Dc1 over next Dc1. Chain over chain, but decrease the number by 1: Ch 5. Dc1 over 1st Dc1, Dc1 over 2nd Dc 1, Dc1 under chain,
  • 12:40: Ch 3, Dc1 under chain, Dc1 over Dc1, Dc1 over Dc1. Our pattern: decrease the chain by 1, increase Dc by 1. Chain over chain: Ch 5.
  • 13:22: Dc over Dc, Dc1 under chain, Ch 3, Dc1 under chain, Dc over Dc. Repeat till the end of the row.
  • 14:01: End row 4: Dc over Dc, Dc1 under chain, Ch 1, Dc 1 in the 3rd chain stitch. Start row 5: Ch3 + Ch1.
  • 15:11: Turn the work. We had 3 Dc, in this row we need 4 Dc. Dc1 under chain, Dc over Dc. Ch 4 (We had Ch6 in row 3, Ch 5 in row 4 and now Ch 4). Dc over Dc, Dc1 under chain,
  • 15:49: Ch 3, Dc1 under chain, Dc over Dc. Repeat till the end of the row.
  • 16:21: End row 5: Dc over Dc, Dc1 under chain, Ch1, Dc1 in 3rd chain stitch.
  • 17:32: Start row 6: Ch 3+Ch1.
  • 18:04: Turn the work. Dc1 under chain, Dc over Dc. Ch 3 Dc over Dc.
  • 18:40: Dc under chain, Ch3, Dc under chain. Dc over Dc. Repeat till the end of the row. End row 6: Dc over Dc, Dc1 under chain, Ch1, Dc1 in the 3rd chain stitch.
  • 19:36: Start row 7: Ch 3 + Ch1. Turn the work. Dc1 under chain, Dc over Dc.
  • 20:07: Ch 2. Dc over Dc. Dc1 under chain, Ch 3, Dc1 under chain.
  • 20:39: Ch 2. Repeat the pattern: Dc over Dc, Dc1 under chain, Ch 3, Dc1 under chain, Dc over Dc. End row 7: Dc over Dc, Dc1 under chain, Ch1, Dc1 in the 3rd chain stitch.
  • 21:36: Start row 8: Ch3+Ch1. Turn the work. Dc1 under chain, Dc over Dc.
  • 22:09: Ch 1. Dc over Dc, Dc under chain, Ch 3, Dc under chain, Dc over Dc. Ch 1.
  • 22:58: Dc over Dc, Dc under chain, Ch 3, Dc under chain, Dc over Dc. End row 8: Dc over Dc, Dc1 under chain, Ch 1, Dc1 in the 3rd chain stitch. Start row 9: Ch 3+Ch1. Turn the work.
  • 23:31: Dc1 under chain, Dc over Dc Ch 1. Dc over Dc, Dc 1 under chain, Ch 2 (!), Dc1 under chain, Dc over Dc. Ch 1.
  • 24:34: Dc over Dc, Dc 1 under chain, Ch 2 (!), Dc1 under chain, Dc over Dc. End row 9: Dc over Dc, Dc1 under chain, Ch 1, Dc1 in the 3rd chain stitich.
  • 25:15: Start row 10: Ch 3 (!), no extra. Turn the work. Dc1 under chain, Dc over Dc. Ch 1.
  • 26:04: Dc over Dc, Dc1 under chain, Ch 1 (!), Dc1 under chain, Dc over Dc. Ch 1.
  • 26:44: Dc over Dc, Dc1 under chain, Ch 1 (!), Dc1 under chain, Dc over Dc. Now we will connect the edges of the yoke.
  • 27:15: There should be enough space for the head. We made the yoke turning rows and we'll continue in the same way to make a nice joint. End row 10 (in the same way but without Ch1). Sl st in the 3rd chain stitch.
  • 27:45: Start row 11: Ch3. Turn the work. This is our joint. These Ch3 over Dc on the right side. Start Dc over Dc on the left side.
  • 28:15: Dc1 under chain. Dc over Dc We'll fill this round with Dc. Dc3 under Ch1 (Ch from the wedge).
  • 29:07: Dc over Dc, Dc1 under Ch1 (Ch between two wedges).
  • 29:42: Dc over Dc. Dc3 under Ch1 (Ch inside the wedge). Repeat till the end of the round.
  • 30:19: End round 11: Sl st in the 3rd chain stitch. This is our round yoke. This is our joint in the back. We'll crochet in rounds till we reach the desired size. Then we'll divide the yoke into 4 parts: 2 parts for sleeves, 1 back, 1 front. We need to crochet till this height equals the armscye.
  • 31:01: I need 11-12 cm.
  • 31:34: We continue crocheting in turning rounds. This is a round yoke so we crochet in a round pattern.
  • 32:08: We need 12 increases in each round. Count the number of stitches. Each of my 10 wedges has 22 stitches. So I have 220 stitches.
  • 32:58: I divide them by 12. I need inc1 in each 18th stitch. Dc over Dc (17 in total), Dc2 in 18th stitch.
  • 33:41: Repeat till the end of the round.
  • 34:37: I took one of my daughter's tops to calculate the height of the yoke. 24 cm - shoulder length, 11 cm - armscye.
  • 35:07: I have inc12 in this round. End the round with Dc.
  • 35:46: Sl st in the 3rd chain stitch. Next round: Ch 3, turn the work. If you want to pause crocheting, do several Dc to mark the direction. I've got 11 cm yoke.
  • 36:38: In the next lesson we'll add chains to fit the dress. Stay with Mamochkin Kanal! Bye!
