  • 00:04: For this tutorial we're going to need a five-millimeter hook or size H hook. At least t two skeins of yarn when this is worstweight yarn 4 ply US 10 ply AU. It comes in about 230 yards. and a pair of scissors to begin you want to chain 21 and if you wanna make it longer
  • 00:32: the formula for this scarf is four stitches, plus one. So stay it sets of 4 and when you've got the length that you desire then justchain 1 and then start So I have 21 and I'm going to singlecrochet in the second chain from the hook then i'm going to single crochet in each stitch down my chain
  • 01:03: for total of 20 single crochets and once you have your 20 singlecrochets done you want to chain two and turn now it'll be the same way for every beginning and end of a row you want to double crochet in the firststitch so I'm going to put a double crochet
  • 01:31: in the first stitch and it will always be like that, chain one and double crochet and then you want to start your cluster and how you do that is you wantto do two incomplete double crochets in each stitch, so in this stitch what you're gonna do is yarn over, go intothat stitch like you're gonna do a double crochet pull up a loop
  • 02:00: but you want to yarn over and only pull through two of the loops, then you want to yarn over, go back into that same stitch, pull up a loop and then yarn over and pull through two loops you want to do this for each stitch for the next 2 stitches. So you've done one so now you want to do the nextone, yarn over go in through the next stitch pull a loop, yarn over and only pull throughtwo loops
  • 02:34: no you've got one incomplete here, now you want to do another one yarn over and go into that same stitch, yarn over and pull through two loops now you have two incomplete here and twoincomplete here now you want to yarn over and pull through all 5 loops. you're always going to have fiveloops to go through you have two incompletes two incompletesthen once you do you'll pull through all the loops and chain one. Let me show you
  • 03:06: one more time. You want to yarn over and go into the next stitch pull up a loop yarn over pull through twoloops then yarn over and go into that samestitch pull up a loop then yarn over and pull throughonly two loops. Three loops on hook, then youwant to work the same thing in the next stitch as well, soyarn over
  • 03:32: go into the very next next stitch pull upa loop yarn over, pull through only two loops repeat that, yarn over and go into that same stitch, pull up a loop. yarn overand pull through two loops, now you have five loops on yourhook and you see you have two incomplete doublecrochets here and two incomplete double crochets here now you're ready to yarn over and pull through all five loops
  • 04:00: then chain 1 you always want to chain 1 after every cluster and you want to continue this throughout therest of the row, in the very last stitch you'll want to do a double crochet but continue doing your clusters, rememberyou're using two stitches for each cluster and I'll see you back here at the end ofthe row when you've made it to the end of the row you want to do a double crochet
  • 04:30: in this very last stitch and then asalways you want to chain 2 and then turn you'll do this at the end of every row now you're rows will be the same fromhere on out you always chain 2 and turn and put adouble crochet into that first stitch and then will be working your clusters now asfollows:
  • 05:03: the top of the completed clusters leave a small stitch, it can be hard to see it here and there will be a long stitch right next toit here so these are the two stitches thatyou'll be using to make your custer stitch the small one, above the cluster here and then the big one to the side of it so you'll be doing exactly what you didlast time, yarning over going into
  • 05:30: that first stitch pulling up a loop yarn over and pull through only two loops then again into that same stitch we'll be doing an incomplete double crochet so now you have two incomplete double crochets in this firststitch you repeat that for this long stitch hereon the side putting two incomplete double crochetsthere
  • 06:00: giving me five loops on the hook. yarn over and pull through all 5 loops and chain one and repeat it in the next stitch as well yarn over, pull up a loop and only pulling through two leaving two incomplete it again we'llwork it in this largest stitch beside just like that, see? so on the top and yourcluster here
  • 06:31: and then you have the larger stitch here you have 5 loops on hook, yarn over pull through all five loops and then chain one so you're going to want to repeat this for theentire row when you get to the end, i'll shown atrick to make sure the you always double crochet in the correct stitch okay I just got done with my lastcluster of the row and now in this very last here Iwant to do a double crochet
  • 07:01: now every time you get done with the row your always chain two and you can see with this one there's a chain two on the side it's kinda hard to see work but it's here on the side here now this here is the stitch on the top my double crochet
  • 07:30: so you wanna make sure that you alwaysgo into through this stitch in the very top of your double crochet, notdown the chain not down one of the chain twos on the side, always use the the stitch on top of the double crochet so you wanna go right into the stitch on top of the double crochet and do adouble crochet then you'll always chain 2 and turn, see and here this is going to be the next row
  • 08:03: this is your chain two but you'll want toput a double crochet here in the stitch on top of the double crochet so you'll turn go into that stitch then yarn of and start going into that first stitch on top of the cluster
  • 08:31: to start your next cluster just like and and you'll continue row after row the same way, like I said it should take at least two skeins of yarn to make a decent size scarf and if you think that this istoo wide and you want to reduce it some
  • 09:03: then like you said you can just countto four count your stitches four by four by fourby four and then when it gets to the length that you want, just chain 1 then you can start so this has been the tutorial to show you how to do the cluster stitch scarf I hope that it was easy to follow andthat you're enjoying my new HD and I hope that I stay in frame as bestas as I could
